1Ti 4:1  Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

1Ti 4:2  Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Seared.

burn or scorch the surface of (something) with a sudden, intense heat.

Seared conscience. Burned.

once burned the conscience no longer is healthy, no longer true.

What happened to the conscience of the Christian in America? it is seared. It is no longer true. We have dulled our senses, we have moved from the purity of God that we can no longer see and have moved to a less pure standard.

The preacher of today doesn't preach sin. Well we might offend, we might not be right in our definition, we might get fired.

The preacher of 50 years ago stood and preached a holy and pure God who hates sin!

We today preach a loving forgiving God who will love you despite how you live after salvation. We preach a loving God, who winks at sin and turns a blind eye because we are under the blood.

#222222">I say we will be held to a higher standard because of the blood we are under!

#222222">Can we make the cross of Christ of no consequence? Yes we can and we have.

#222222">Why does the world not listen to us? because we have seared our conscience and preached a weak Gospel.

#222222">You may say it is legalism, that we are under Grace.

#222222">I agree we are under God's Grace which means we should be under a sharper conviction to live more pure than any other before us. We should strive to live as Holy as He is. We may never reach that standard but we should try so that we please our Father.

#222222">We should be under conviction to preach a Holy Pure standard that He has set, not the acceptance of mediocrity.

#222222">Not a willingness to live as they do 'to reach them". We are never going to reach them if we are like them. For if we are like them why do they need us? If we are like them what need of a Pure and Just God do they have? If God's people have lowered themselves to the standards of the world than we why does the world need us? Need Him?

#222222">We have made the cross of Christ negligible to them by showing them less than a pure standard.

#222222">We have made God unnecessary to them by lowering ourselves into the mud and muck of this earth.

#222222">Come out from among them and be ye separate.

#222222">Be ye Separate!

#222222">legalism would be applying the holiness of a Pure and Holy God to a lost world.

#222222">We are to be held to a higher standard as Children of the Living God. As the ambassadors to this world we are to be held to a higher standard.

#222222">That standard should be God's Standard and not the standard of man who is a sinner

#222222">If we come to church in a suit it is because we represent a Holy God and we want to look our best, but we do not hold the sinner to the same standard. We do not hold the seeker to the same standard.

#222222">If we are in the world and of the world monday through saturday then why do they need us on Sunday?

#222222">If it looks like the world, acts like the world, it must be of the world.

#222222">We do not go to the dances or the bars because we are to be separate.

#222222">We should not accept the sin of the World as normal for we are to be separate.

#222222">We should not accept the standards of the world for we are to be separate.

1Jn 2:15  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1Jn 2:16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

1Jn 2:17  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Love not the World, neither the things of the world.

The things of this world are sin. That's what the world gives us. They are not pure and holy for this world is of the devil.

Satan rules therefore sin rules.

God is not of this world, God is Holy, Pure, and Just.

Hold the action you are doing up to God's pure light and see if it holds up.

At work I often ask people who make a mistake would you have done that if I was standing here?

They always say no.

If you won't do it in church, in front of the preacher, or mom or dad, then why would you do it at all?

You have a Holy Pure God watching you at all times who will Judge you more fairly and justly than your parents ever will.

God is a God of Mercy but on Judgment day He will judge you Purely, Holy, and Fairly and He will not accept mediocrity, or grey areas, or any excuses.

Are you living a life that will make Him happy?

A life that might offend some here on earth, But a Life that makes your DAD proud?

A life that shines an example to the world of a Holy and Just and Pure God?

There is a problem with throwing the term legalism around. We go so far out of our way to avoid the appearance of legalism that we lower our standards, soften our approach and our message so we appear less rigid.

When in reality we are taking the shame of sin away and accepting the sin into our lives and our churches.

We don't have to commit the sin ourselves to be accepting of it. We can lessen our stance, lessen our example and make it comfortable for the sinner and by doing so we have condemned them to Hell.

Every one we do not influence or set a rotten example for that dies and goes to Hell we shall answer for.

Everyone we fail to positively affect for Christ we WILL answer for.

You will know them and your failure as you watch them thrown into outer darkness forever separated from God and it will be YOUR fault, and I believe you will know it on that day.

Set a standard that is God's Standard and do not budge.

Live a life separate, shine a light holy and pure.

They need God, you are all they will see of Him.

Are they seeing a Holy and Just God?

or are they seeing nothing different from what they are? What they do?
