Mat 9:10  And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.

Mat 9:11  And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?

Mat 9:12  But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.

Mat 9:13  But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Jesus never held His Tongue, nor did He hide His contempt for the "righteous". Jesus many times spoke sharply and in rebuke of the "righteous" of His day.

Why would He do that? Why did He not plead and beg with the "righteous" leaders? Why did He not keep His mouth closed because they were of the "righteous" class and He didn't want to cause waves? Why did He not compromise with them since they were all doing the same work?

Because they were turning more from God than they were leading to God.

They made the God of the universe unapproachable, they did not present a true example of God, they prevented and perverted a true Image of the Living God. They caused more pain and consternation among the people than they did to help. They believed more in their 'holiness" than they did for the need of the  souls of the people.

They caused people to tithe down to the nth degree, they made rules and guidelines that God never intended. They chose to segregate themselves from the people of God by making themselves out to be more than they were.

The pharisees believed that by their actions they could reach a holiness that would attain them a seat in heaven. They believed that the outward piety was greater than inner contrition. They lost sight of the Heart and focused on the acts.

You can fool anyone with your actions, you can make people believe that you are more than they think but you can not convince God or yourself.

Several times the pharisees questioned Christ about His disciples and their lack of following the "rules".

Mat_12:2  But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

Mar_7:5  Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?

Luk_5:33  And they said unto him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink?

The Pharisees cared not for the people, they cared for their power, their money, their prestige.

They cared not that the people tithed themselves into poverty, they cared not that they caused people to hate God because of their rules, ceremonies, observances, traditions, and customs.

There are those today in this world as the pharisees are. They care only for their wallet.

They do not preach a true Gospel, They do not hold to the scriptures that tell us that man is a sinner and can not make it without Him, They are preaching a God of Love without preaching a God of Judgement, a God of Holiness.

They are preaching that there is no accountability, that a positive attitude is better than repentance, that obedience is not necessary God will bless you anyway.

They are preaching sedition and apostasy! They are perverting the Word of God and making more to hate God than they are turning to God.

If the people listening to these apostates do not get rich, or healed, or a life free of troubles then these people will turn from God believing that they are not worthy.

These"preachers" are not worthy!

My Bible never guarantees health, wealth, and goodness. My Bible guarantees that if I call upon the name of Christ I shall be saved. That once saved I will never be out of God's hand.

My Bible tells me to get out and witness of Christ and Christ alone, not to stand there smile and tell them they are good people.

My Bible does not mention slaying in the Spirit, it tells me that there is a Holy Spirit who will Work in me to achieve a closer relationship with God Almighty.

My Bible does not teach that all would be healthy and wealthy, my Bible teaches that all are sinners, that there are none righteous except God.

The pharisees and apostates of today are doing more harm than good, they are turning more from God than they are to God.

Christ spoke plain, He spoke Truth. He was out among the sinners where He was needed not in the temple with the 'righteous"

Christ spoke to a people who needed to know the mercy of God, that needed to know the Love of God, that needed to know that God cared for them.

Christ sat and ate with the sinners, He talked of God and God's love. Then he told them to repent, to sin no more.

He preached purity of heart and soul from the inside out, not outside in.

Christ taught that sins can be forgiven, that a man needed God, that man needed to be born of the Spirit.

Christ taught that God wanted all men to come to repentance. To turn from their sin to a Holy Righteous God who loves them and did not want them to continue in their wicked ways.

Christ taught that all men were sinful. That all men were corrupt. That all men had a need for God and His Love.

Christ taught that though you are a sinner there is a place for you in God's kingdom if you will believe that He ,Christ, is God personified and that He died for You and for me so that we might enter into the kingdom of Heaven.

Christ taught there was no other way to heaven but to believe on Him.

No work or act could make you holy enough in God's eyes but the heart was the key to salvation.

Christ taught that a disciple of His would not have an easy life but they would be persecuted for His sake.

He did not teach wealth and health but a contrite heart and humble Spirit.

Christ taught Hell and judgement for those who did not believe. He taught of a place where unbelievers would suffer for eternity if they turned their backs on His free gift.

Christ Taught hellfire and damnation. He taught of the struggles of this earth. He went hungry, He went without a place to live, He went to places where He would not be accepted, He went to people who He knew would reject Him

Christ taught that all men needed Him, He taught that all men, women, and children were in need of salvation, of repentance.

Christ came to seek and to save that which was lost, came to those who knew they had a need but didn't know the answer to that need. He came for those that no one else would care about for they had nothing to offer them.

Christ sat with the pharisees, He sat with the sinners, He sat with the children, He sat with the rich. He sat with the poor.

He spoke with the diseased, He cared for the blind, the deaf, and the lepers that the religious elders of the day had no use for.

His followers, those closest to Him, had a prostitute, a tax collector who stole from the public, a fisherman or two, a radical rebel, a pharisee and an intellectual or two.

He preached sin and forgiveness. No more, no less.

He preached God's love and God's judgment.

If that was the message of Christ then how can our message be any different?

If that was His Gospel, how can ours be less?
