Rewards in Heaven

Rewards are essential for Christians and by deciding to follow Jesus asking for forgiveness and accepting his gift of salvation---we will get rewards. I didn't quite understand all this and always thought that we would all be judged for our sins, but as Christians, we have confessed our sins and they are forgotten because of Jesus's sacrifice on the cross. Now if you are an unbeliever than you will be judged and this will not be a good day for the non-believer. Either you are for Jesus or you aren't.

There are so many rewards to be given these are just a few. I always wondered what rewards were but here is just a few that most Christians already do. They are Prayer, (Hebrews 11:6): And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him." He wants us to pray for everything and he seeks for you to be closer to him. It warms my heart that we have such a fantastic wonderful God who will listen to us. Granted not all prayers are answered the way we want them but he has a great reason for this, and some prayers are answered better than we thought it could ever be.

Another reward is, being compassionate to the less fortunate. Helping out when you know someone is in need. We all see people on the streets begging for money, some are legitimate and some aren't, but we don't know who is telling the truth. One pastor that we listen to gives when he feels like he should to some, and others not as much. We are not judging who is truly homeless but we do the best we can and give money, food, or help for some of these people. Even giving to the salvation army helps people, if you happen to have things to give. Everything helps and we all can do our part, including me. Sometimes we don't even see how much we give it just comes naturally--God blesses those who are compassionate to the less fortunate.

"Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets." (Luke 6:22-23) We cannot be ashamed of the gospel or God it is the truth. Our pastor had a sermon on it last Sunday it was great. Mattew 10: 22 "And you shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endures to the end shall be saved." Stay steadfast in your beliefs you will be rewarded.

Loving your enemies can be tough at times but it is well worth it to forgive your enemies. Luke 6:35, "But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the highest, for his is kind to the ungrateful and the evil." Mayo Clinic says, "forgiveness can lessen its grip on you and help free you from the control of the person who harmed you. Forgiveness can even lead to feelings of understanding, empathy, and compassion for the one who hurt you." I am sure all of us have been in a situation that someone has really harmed or hurt us so deeply that we didn't want to forgive. But, if you can let go of that hurt it is much better for you and it also helps health-wise. We can finally let go of this hurt and move on with our life. Jesus doesn't want us to hold onto these negative feelings he wants us to be free of it. Granted, we don't forget but we can forgive as Jesus did himself. What I love about Jesus is he wants the best for us isn't that another wonderful trait of our Lord, how can we not want to please someone who loves us so much.

Did you know that giving is a gift? I really didn't think of it this way, but giving is better for the giver, in the long run, another health factor. A plus is God loves it when we give. Remember the money we have is not ours, it's all Gods, all materials, and anything we own is God's. Our pastor asked us last Sunday about money, it's not ours, and he wanted to see hands I raised my hand knowing that he was right! I didn't want anyone to think I am better than anyone else because I raised my hand! He's a great pastor and I love his sense of humor. We give what we can, it's simple!

Boy, we all of the trials, don't we? Getting through them can be quite tough at times. But when that trial is over and we have kept the faith knowing God is walking right alongside of us we really have to rejoice. We have kept our faith and God loves us for that too!

Wouldn't you rather have rewards than being judged for your sins, today you need to accept Jesus Christ as your savior, he loves us more than anything and he wants the best for us? How can we go wrong with a person that adores us just like we adore him? We are in good hands with our Father in heaven. Sometimes people get caught up and don't quite understand it all but being saved means God will meet you and help you. No one is perfect and we all fall short but accepting Jesus as our savior is well worth it. God Bless all of you.

Nicely done. I like your line, " Giving is a gift," while simultaneously remembering a fellow believer once pointed out to me that it is impossible to out-give God. Blessings to you. Keep up the good work.
Thank you Adam that is so nice of you I try hard. Have a good week!

You, too.

Loving your enemies and turning the other cheek gives you the reward of peace in your personal life. Sometimes it’s best to let things go people seem to want to get the last word and it usually ends very badly
Adam Christian
Amen to that.

But! Sometimes you have to fight to defend you your family or country

Matthew 10:34: “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
I agree Mathew you have to give yourself peace but sometimes the other person doesn't want to make amends and walking away is the best thing for both....
